Principal's Message
Thank you for visiting the Lemay St. Elementary School webpage. Lemay serves approximately 420 students from Pre-K through 5th grade. Our vision is to provide an instructional program that develops the academic and social skills necessary for the future success of all our students.
Teachers and staff follow shared values that guide our beliefs about teaching and learning. Our instruction supports student progress in meeting the learning outcomes of the California Common Core State Standards. Learning activities are intentional and purposeful. We have high expectations for all students to achieve to the best of their ability. To ensure all students advance in their learning, we differentiate instruction and support. As educators, we hold high expectations of our own effectiveness and collaborate to continuously improve our instructional program. Together we foster a caring school culture where students are excited about learning. Parents and community volunteers care deeply about the success of our children. Through these shared values, students are provided with an outstanding elementary school education.
Lemay has a rich history of educational excellence and has been recognized as a National Blue Ribbon, California Distinguished, and Title I Academic Achievement Award School.
We look forward to working with you and your child to make this another successful school year.
Long Nguyen,
Principal
